Norwalk Health Department performs a variety of surveillance activities at medical clinics and physician offices to ensure that all area children receive age appropriate immunizations by their second birthday. The IAP nurses are the state representatives for the Connecticut Immunization Registry Tracking System, a state computer program into which physicians are required to report all childhood vaccines.
